Pumpkin Patch
We ventured to the Pumkin Patch today. Kyler fell asleep about 5 minutes before we got there, so he was pretty tired for about the first 30 minutes we were there. There were lots of animals to feed. He liked looking at them, as long as he was not too close to the fence while we fed them. He picked out a pumpkin (from the 2 that I picked up). We didn't do the hayride this year. It was a really long line, we will do that next year!

6 month check-up
I took Kyler for his 6 month check-up last week. He got 4 shots in his legs. He did really well, he is a tough little boy! He weighs 21 lbs 5 oz and is 29 inches long. He is a little below the 90th percentile on weight and a little above on height. We are so blessed to have such a healthy little boy!

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Mom and I have been very busy lately with business stuff. We have 6 shows coming up; 2 in September, 2 in October, 1 in November, 1 in December. We have been making some boy outfits this year, we didn't have much boy stuff before. I am trying to get pics taken and get it up on the site, but it is a slow process right now. Here are some pics of some of the things we have made lately. I have to say, Kyler is the cutest little boy model EVER!!http://www.thislittlepiggyllc.com

Making baby food
I made my first batch of baby food yesterday. We tried plums. Of course, it was not as easy to seperate the cooked plum flesh from the skin as it appeared in the recipe, but I finally managed to get it done. He had some for dinner last night and seemed to like it. Next we are trying blueberries.

Granddan's 80th Birthday party
We headed down to Houston for the weekend for Granddan's 80th birthday party. Kyler hadn't been down there, and had not met most of the family. He did really well on the drive!! I was a little nervous about that. He was so good at the party too! He got to swim in Donna and Warren's pool and their neighbors let us borrow a float to put him in. He was kicking his feet while he was in the water. Uncle Brent brought him a flight suit from JPL. Uncle Brent finds the coolest presents!! Amber brought him some shirts and a stuffed lamb from Canada. Great Aunt Donna made him a new quilt that is so adorable!! He also got a book from Great Aunt Jeanne. What an awesome family we have!! We got to hear about the traveling adventures from Jen, who just returned from Kenya, Lauren just got back from Costa Rica, and Steve got back to Austin Friday night from teaching in Korea for a year.

March for Babies
We have signed up again this year for the March of Dimes "March for Babies". Again we had to sign up for the one in Oklahoma because we the one is Dallas was in April, so we were not ready since Kyler was so young. Since Kyler's birth, I have a new appreciation for the mission of the March of Dimes. The benefits of the shot I got every week, as well as the surgical procedure I had early on, were discovered by research funded by the March of Dimes. We will never know if we would have our little muchkin had we not had the shots and surgery, but I am so thankful that they were available and that my new Dr was so willing to try whatever it took to get our baby here. The few days Kyler spent in the NICU truly made me realize how important it is to me to be apart of this. Seeing all the tiny babies in there that were going to make it and be ok was truly amazing.
Wow, I sound like an infomercial!!

Kyler and his new toy
Mom bought a horse jumper before Kyler was even born. Uncle Brent put it together when he was here the last time, but Kyler has just decided that it is kinda fun. He absolutely loves his frog bouncer that we have at home. When we were over there the other day, Dickens really wanted Kyler to pay attention to him, but Kyler was way too interested in the spinny thing on the horse. After about 10 minutes of rolling around, Dickens gave up.
Trying new things
A few weeks ago, we started Kyler on solids. So far he has tried bananas, green beans, sweet peas, squash, carrots, peaches, pears, sweet potatos, and applesauce. He LOVES the bananas, pears, and sweet potatos. He does not like peaches at all. At first he wasn't so fond of the applesauce, but now he eats it. Sometimes he gets distracted by our bright yellow chicken curtains, so you have to feed him while he is looking to his right. Oh well, at least he is a good eater.
First time at the park
We decided to take Kyler to the park bright and early yesterday morning. We tried to go last weekend, but there were so many people there once we got there. So as soon as he got up and ate, we headed out. As you can tell from the pictures, he was not all that excited about it. He was really looking around though. I think he was just taking it all in. Once he can run, he will love it!! It is the coolest park ever!! I think I may have his first birthday party there!! Never too early to start planning!!
